In accordance with the Guidelines for Federal Government World Wide Websites issued by the Australian Privacy Commissioner, the Department of Treasury provides the following privacy statement.

Statistical information

When you visit this site the following information will be recorded by Treasury or it’s service providers for statistical purposes:

• the top level domain name (for example, .com, .gov, .au);
• the date and time of your visit to the site;
• the pages accessed and documents downloaded;
• the previous site visited; and
• the type of browser that you use.

We do not use any cookies on any area of the site that is accessible to the public.

No attempt will be made to identify users of their browsing activities except, in the unlikely event of an investigation, where a law enforcement agency may exercise its authority to inspect the Internet Service Providers log files.

Contacting Treasury by email *

Treasury will only record your email address if you send us a message. It will only be used for the purpose for which you have provided it and will not be added to a mailing list. We will not use your email address for any other purpose, and will not disclose it, without your consent.

Press release and publications subscribe and unsubscribe email service *

Treasury offers a subscribe and unsubscribe email service for clients who wish to receive notification of the latest copies of press releases and other major publications released by the Treasurer, the Assistant Treasurer, the Minister for Financial Services and Regulation and by the Treasury Department. When you subscribe to this service your email address is added to a database. Your email address will not be used for any other purpose, and it will not be disclosed, without your consent.

Online Forms *

As part of the Government Online Strategy Treasury now provides clients with the option of completing some forms online. Treasury records the information requested on the online forms in a database. The information will only be used for the purpose for which it was requested and will not be distributed further, or disclosed, without your consent.

User Feedback *

We seek feedback from our users in order to improve the service offered by the site.  Answering feedback questions is voluntary and does not in any way affect your access to the Treasury websites.
